Additionally to clear up a point: if there is only one explorer.exe in the processes list in Task Manager, delete it, open a new task as described and enter ‘explorer.exe' and Another option instead of using the antivirus recovery disk or dos scanners is pull the hdd out of the computer and slave the infected drive to a good machine.
just go to google and download sp3. It said it wasnt functioning properly but diagnostic scans came up clean.

Check the desktop to see if you can click on the icons.If you can the next step is to start enabling each add-on that you want and repeat. Anyhow this was only happening when I would exit Skype and close it down.
